Barrie, ON – November 4th, 2013 – Women’s Volleyball player Natalie Buck has been named Georgian Grizzlies Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 3rd.
The Keswick native had a big weekend on the court in back to back games scoring 14 points while leading the team with 13 kills in a tight 3-2 loss to Algonquin on Saturday night. She followed that up with a team leading 16 points (10 kills, 4 serving aces and 2 blocks) to help the Grizzlies secure a 3-0 victory over the Coyotes from La Cité.
The fifth year outside hitter was last year’s Georgian Female Athlete of the Year and is currently 3rd in the OCAA in points with 48.
Also in consideration for this week’s award was fellow women’s volleyball teammate Hannah Campbell who had 24 points in two games, men’s volleyball player Jason Grimm who was the Grizzlies leading scorer in both games this weekend and women’s basketball player Summer Bly who had 25 points in a game against George Brown on Friday night.
