Women’s badminton player Maggie Tremblay has been named Georgian Grizzlies Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 9.
Tremblay, a native of Rossport, competed in the George Brown College Invitational where she reached the semi-finals of the consolation round of women’s singles and also earned a quarterfinals berth with teammate Sharon Lu of China in the women’s doubles.
The four-year veteran has grown into a tremendous leader this season with a young Grizzlies group and continues to develop her game on the court which has been shown in her strong performances through the first four tournaments of the season.
Georgian College will play host to the 2013 OCAA East Regional on Feb. 7 and 8 at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The tournament will determine which players will move on to the OCAA Provincials Championship which will take place on Feb. 15 and 16 in Toronto, hosted by Humber College.
