Windsor, ON – Georgian’s Colton Kalkanis shot a final round 72 to win the men’s individual title at the 2012 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Golf Championships held at the Roseland Golf & Curling Club
Kalkanis led the tournament from start-to-finish, ending the 54-hole event with a three-over-par 213.
The men’s team took a home a silver medal with a team total of 887, falling just three strokes shy of the first place Humber Hawks.
James Skrypec finished in a tie for fifth after shooting 76 on the final day. Jonah Tremback and Nolan Knill were tied for 16th and 20th place respectively, while Clayton Connor rounded out the Grizzlies in 24th position.
The women’s team also reached the podium, claiming a bronze medal, after shooting a team total of 184 on the final day. Alyssa DeFoe finished in fourth place, while Avery White was 10th.
Both teams have qualified for the 2012 PING Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golf National Championship to be held at the Oshawa Golf and Country Club from October 15th to 19th.
