The Georgian Grizzlies women’s indoor soccer team had their season come to an end on Friday but it wasn’t without a good effort at the OCAA Championship hosted by Redeemer University College in Ancaster.
The Grizzlies played two tough games to open the tournament falling in both matches 1-0 to the St. Clair Saints and the Sheridan Bruins.
Showing their determination the Grizzlies played a solid game against the Centennial Colts in their final round robin match. The lone goal was scored by rookie Kristin Bartosik (Innisfil) as the Grizzlies won 1-0.
With a 1-2 record the Grizzlies fell just short of qualifying for the medal round.
It was another season with great positives for the Georgian team as they have now qualified for the provincial championships in three straight years after earning their first berth in the team’s history during the 2013 season.
