Georgian Grizzlies men’s golfer Blake Ulrich competed this week at the Golf Canada University/College Championship which took place at the historic Cutten Fields in Guelph from May 26-29.
Ulrich, a native of Peterborough, was one of 11 golfers from the OCAA to compete at the four-round event. After posting an impressive opening round of 2-over-72, Ulrich battled some difficult weather in the next rounds but was able to battle through to make the cut to Friday’s final round.
He had another solid round shooting just three over on the final day to finish the event tied for 48th place on what was a tight leaderboard.
Evan Holmes from the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds took home the men’s individual title shooting even par over the four rounds.
Ulrich earned an invitation to the event after a good season and was the top placing golfer for the Grizzlies at the 2014 OCAA Championship this past October when he finished.
