Chris Wood’s try, converted by Paul Marshall, with five minutes left in the game gave the Georgian men’s rugby team a hard-fought 10-10 tie against the Conestoga Condors.
Conestoga opened the scoring on a try by former Grizzly James Halyk, before the Grizzlies responded with a Marshall penalty kick just before the half to cut the gap to 5-3.
Andrew Harpell extended Conestoga’s lead to 10-3 with a try at the 57th minute, setting the stage for Georgian’s late-game heroics.
Both teams now share identical 1-0-1 records and occupy second place in the OCAA West.
The Grizzlies will hit the road for the first time this season next Saturday to take on the Sheridan Bruins.
