Business Administration alumnus is now a successful serial entrepreneur

Close up head shot of Business Administration alumnus Alex BrownGeorgian Business Administration alumnus Alex Brown is a self-proclaimed serial entrepreneur who has started and sold a handful of thriving businesses. He’s also a well-respected operations and corporate development expert and youth entrepreneurship and employment leader in Canada and the U.S.

Alex is currently at the helm of Unconscious Content, a media, events and publishing company, and Dollar Beard Club, a subscription-based men’s grooming company that earned $10.5 million in revenue in its first year alone.

“I love startups and helping entrepreneurs establish and position their own companies and ideas,” says Alex.

His interests go beyond commerce – he’s been recognized as a leader in youth employment policy and as a mentor and startup youth delegate. He’s been featured in a number of business periodicals, as well as Advertising Age magazine and the Financial Post.

Alex has a penchant for keeping his eye on the next big opportunity and is continually looking at different ways of adding value to the marketplace, which is something he says he was taught to do at Georgian.

“When I was at Georgian, I focused on learning everything I could about business, and I learned from my classmates as well,” says Alex. “The best advice I can give students is to view these networks as their net worth and stay in touch with them – you never know where you’ll find the inspiration for your next big idea.”

Alex has his sights set on developing a business incubator and setting up (and selling!) more companies.
