OVERVIEW
The Georgian College Fall Open House Experience Georgian Prize Contest (the “Contest”) is open to residents of the Province of Ontario 16 years of age and older who attend Open House at any of the seven Georgian College campuses – Barrie, Midland, Muskoka (Bracebridge), Orangeville, Orillia, Owen Sound and South Georgian Bay (Collingwood) – and who fill out a contest ballot (“Ballot”).
Any winner (“Winner”) under the age of 18 must have a parent/legal guardian sign an affidavit of eligibility. The Contest is not open to employees of Georgian College or persons with whom they are domiciled. The Contest is not open to students currently enrolled in a program at Georgian College.
By entering the Contest, each entrant (“Entrant”) acknowledges that they have read and understood the rules set out below (collectively the “Contest Rules”), and accepts the Contest Rules and agrees to abide by the governing terms and conditions.
All Contest Rules will be listed on the GeorgianCollege.ca/contest/FallOpenHouse website.
HOW TO ENTER
No purchase necessary to enter. To participate in the Contest, you must:
- Attend Open House on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 and receive a contest entry ballot (“Ballot”). The Ballot will be given to all Open House attendees at all campus locations.
- Attendees may secure a second ballot by completing the online Career Match quiz ahead of Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 after displaying proof of having completed the online Career Match quiz to the contest official at the prizing station.
- Use your Ballot(s) to complete the contest entry form – name, email address and the code from the contest Ballot(s) on the GeorgianCollege.ca/win website (“Contest website”).
ENTRY TERMS AND CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest opens at 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.
To be eligible, (A) participants (“Participants”) must visit the contest website to complete the entry form and enter their Ballot code(s) by 5:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.
Georgian College does not guarantee that all persons who receive a Ballot(s) will be entered in the Contest. Completion of the contest entry form before the end of the contest period is required to ensure the ability to participate.
EXPERIENCE GEORGIAN CAMPUS PRIZES
Two winners (“Winners”) will be selected from attendees at each of the seven Georgian College campuses for a total of fourteen (14) winners – (7) Google Homes and seven (7) Acer Aspire Switch Alpha laptops. The Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or exchanged or combined or used in concert with another contest or another offer. The Prize cannot be converted into cash or for another prize.

RELEASES
The Winner, or the Winner’s parent/legal guardian if the Winner is under the age of 18, must sign a liability waiver and publicity release that releases Georgian College, its Board of Governors, officers, agents and employees, from any liability in connection with this Contest or the Prize(s) awarded as a condition to and in advance of receiving the Google Home or the Acer Aspire Switch Alpha laptop, or the Prize(s) will be forfeited.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to win the Prize(s), the Winner must enter the Contest during the Contest Period (see “How to enter” section).
Georgian College reserves the right to verify if the Winner satisfies all Contest admissibility criteria. Georgian College’s rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the promotion and the awarding of the Prize(s). Any dispute relating to the Contest (including, without limitation, a dispute as to whether an Entrant has complied with all of the Contest Rules) shall be resolved by Georgian College in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions of Georgian College shall be final and binding.
All entries that are incomplete or irregular that have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the Contest Rules may be disqualified by Georgian College. Georgian College takes no responsibility for delayed, misdirected or late entries, or for typographical or other production errors. Georgian College is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest. All entries become the property of Georgian College and will not be returned.
NOTE
By submitting an Entry, you acknowledge that your Entry may be posted on social media and/or Georgian College’s proprietary website, regardless of whether or not you are the selected Winner, where it may be viewed, shared (by users of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other internet-based sites) and commented on by Georgian College and the general public.
CONTEST DRAW AND NOTIFICATION
Fourteen (14) individual winners (“Selected Entrants”) will be selected from among all entries received from Georgian College’s seven campus locations in a random draw conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. Odds of being selected depend on the total number of entrants and eligible online entries. The Selected Entrants will be notified by Georgian College by email. The Selected Entrants will be required to sign and return a contest winner agreement (“Contest Winner Agreement”) that includes a declaration of eligibility, liability waiver and a publicity release within 72 hours of notification. The Selected Entrants must correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by email before being declared a winner(s) (“the Winner”).
If a Selected Entrant cannot be contacted within 48 hours of the draw, or does not comply with the Contest Rules, or fails to return the contest documents within the specified time, he/she will forfeit their prize and an alternate Winner will be selected.
Georgian College will contact the Selected Entrants by sending them a private message to the email address provided on the online form.
NO WARRANTY REGARDING ONLINE ENTRIES AND EMAIL OR PHONE NOTIFICATION
Georgian College provides no warranty as to its ability to contact a Selected Entrant by email or phone. Georgian College assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet in the course of notifying a Selected Entrant, irrespective of the nature of the failure (for example, technical malfunction of any telephone networks or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, or failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website).
Similarly, Georgian College assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet should the Selected Entrant seek to enter the contest online, irrespective of the nature of the failure (for example, technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, or failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website).
Georgian College reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to cancel or suspend the Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond its reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Georgian College reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
GENERAL
This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By entering the Contest, participants agree to be bound by these official rules and by the decisions of the contest judges, which shall be final on all matters relating to this Contest. All entries become the property of Georgian College and none will be returned. The personal information provided by Entrants will only be used for the purpose of administration of the Contest, unless the Entrant otherwise agrees.
