The South West Local Health Integrated Network Bursary was created to support Owen Sound Campus PSW students interested in pursuing a career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in the in-home and in-community care sectors within the Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth, Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties. Eligible students will receive $5,000 toward tuition and other expenses.
Georgian will be disbursing $5,000 bursaries to 60 eligible students starting the PSW program at the Owen Sound Campus commencing January 2020, and May 2020 until September 2020. Please note that students who are receiving funding through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), are responsible for reporting any scholarship amount they receive. To be eligible for the bursary students must:
- Complete a supplementary application
- Be a new student accepted to the PSW program at the Owen Sound Campus
- Be passionate about seeking employment in a community-based organization that serves the in-home and in-community care sectors (this excludes hospitals, long term care facilities and retirement homes) upon graduation
