Course description

This course reviews family structures and the impact of our personal experience with family on our teaching practices and values. Strategies for building relationships, problem-solving and conflict resolution with families will also be explored. Students will develop expertise regarding current programs to support parenting. Methods for information sharing with parents will also be reviewed. Students prepare documentation of a child;s progress and compile a portfolio

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
