Second-year Child and Youth Worker student Jess Dettman has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the College Student Alliance – one of 15 awards handed out by the Alliance annually in recognition of outstanding student leadership.

Congratulations Jess!

Congratulations Jess!

Jess volunteers in the community, supports special needs individuals through paid work and an academic placement, is an active volunteer on student council, a member of the college varsity hockey team and is dedicated to her studies.

“We are so proud to hear that one of our Orillia Campus students was awarded this incredible accolade,” said Dr. Howard Bloom, Co-ordinator of the Child and Youth Worker program. “It’s amazing – and really a tribute to Jess’s actions and attitude – that she was one of 15 college students in Canada to be recognized and awarded for her tremendous contributions and leadership.”
