First-year Georgian College Culinary students are preparing their best soup recipes for the inaugural Culinary Student Soup Competition.
Soup’d Up, a contest sponsored by Georgian College, Fresh-a-Fare restaurant and Rogers TV, pits contestants against each other each week. The winner in each week wins a spot in the semi-finals, taking place April 15 at Fresh-a-Fare’s Bayfield St. location in Barrie. Semi-final winners will have their soups featured at Fresh-a-Fare restaurants.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition to the winner and both runners-up.
The winner receives $1,000 tuition for the second-year of their Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation program, a $500 cash award from Fresh-a-Fare, an appearance on Rogers TV Showtime, a baking kit from Canada Cutlery Inc. and a Cuisionx cooking kit from DirectBuy Barrie.
