Using a practical, vocation-oriented approach, students focus on meeting the requirements of effective communication. Through a combination of lectures, exercises, and independent learning, students practice writing, speaking, reading, listening, locating and documenting information, and using technology to communicate professionally. Students develop and strengthen communication skills that contribute to success in both educational and workplace environments.

Italian for Beginners

Students will develop the fundamental ability to comprehend the basic Italian vocabulary and structures. Grammar and writing skills are introduced as well as early reading skills. While using the reading passages, the student will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of the Italian culture.

Introduction to Spoken Mandarin
LANG 1013 – CRN 30150 – Credit Course:

This course uses the Roman alphabet (Pinyin) to teach spoken Mandarin Chinese. Students will learn to pronounce and recognize Chinese sounds and, by the end of the course, will be able to introduce themselves and conduct basic conversations. The course will also introduce students to elements of Chinese culture that are essential for successful communication.

This course is designed for people with little to no previous experience in Japanese language or culture.
