Karl Lohnes, best known as the resident design expert at CTV’s Canada AM, was a special guest at the Decorating and Design Expo at Georgian College’s Barrie Campus this week. Lohnes discussed design trends for 2015. Audience members had an opportunity to ask him questions during his presentation.
Hosted by students in the Interior Decorating and Kitchen and Bath Design programs, the event featured the latest decorating products from industry suppliers. At least 60 suppliers to the decorating and kitchen and bath design markets showcased trending products in home décor and design.
Consumers were able to see the latest home furnishing fabrics, window treatments, wallpapers, flooring, paint, and kitchen and bath products. Displayed items included architectural hardware, cabinetry, appliances, countertops, sinks, faucets, and more. Students interested in working in the field had the opportunity to network with industry professionals.
Business developers and the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre were also on site to assist new and emerging businesses in their quest for success.
