Owen Sound Campus recognized as global leader in marine training technology
May 27, 2013

?The Centre for Marine Training and Research at the Owen Sound Campus is making waves across the globe.

Faculty member Bryan Gelyk was asked by Kongsberg, the supplier of its engine room simulator, to deliver a product demonstration to several marine schools in Brazil earlier this month. Georgian’s state-of-the-art marine technology and expertise has made the campus an industry leader and valuable resource for other organizations who are looking to understand the proper use and application of this technology.

The Centre for Marine Training and Research will host an engine room simulator workshop in June.

Program director Peter Buell is hosting this year’s workshop, chaired by senior Transport Canada officials. There will be 16 attendees from coast to coast participating in a full schedule of events.

If you are at the Owen Sound Campus the week of June 10 you are encouraged to stop in and see this technology first-hand.
