President receives distinguished service award

Brian Tamblyn, President and CEO, was recognized on May 27 by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) for distinguished service during his 30-year career in the Canadian college system.

President Tamblyn is known and respected for his work in the college sector, both nationally and internationally.

His ability to build strong relationships with individuals, private industry, government, and throughout Canada’s post-secondary system has provided immeasurable benefit to Georgian College and to post-secondary education as a whole.

The Distinguished Service Award is bestowed by ACCC’s Presidents Leadership Network in honour of exceptional service and outstanding contribution to Canadian colleges at the local, regional and national levels.

The award was presented at the biennial congress of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics, hosted by ACCC in Halifax May 26 to 29.
