Plan well, age well, live well – Barrie Campus hosts Quest for Zest Oct. 4

Georgian Part-time Studies, in partnership with the Barrie and Community Family Health Team and Saint Elizabeth, will host Quest for Zest on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Barrie Campus Athletic Centre. QUEST FOR ZEST IMAGE_Sept. 17, 2014 The free event aims to connect Barrie and area “zoomers” who are planning for their senior years and retirement with services that can help make that phase of their lives as active and independent as possible. Quest for Zest will feature a keynote address by fitness and health experts Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod (BodyBreak) and a presentation from Kevin Reel, an Ethicist from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. The day will also include demonstrations and workshops on such subjects as:

  • Health screening and medication management
  • Advanced care planning
  • Local community supports
  • Social clubs, activities and lifelong learning
  • Transportation needs
  • Financial and legal planning
  • Downsizing
  • Blood pressure clinic
  • Makeup trials
  • Massage therapy
  • Ballroom dancing
