Georgian College commenced its inaugural June auto show by kicking up its heels – literally – with a fun flash mob at the opening ceremonies. Following the raising of the auto show flag, Georgian staff and students danced to a medley of songs beginning with “Car Wash” and ending with “Celebration.”
The annual show was moved to June from September, to make better use of space on college property and to take advantage of warmer weather. Despite a slightly damp Saturday, crowds were steady at the show all weekend. The Pfaff Porsche Autocross track was a popular event and raised close to $2,800 for Camp Bucko. The auction on Sunday also raised a record-breaking $5,980 towards scholarships for Canadian Automotive Institute (CAI) students.

This was not Georgian’s first foray into spontaneous synchronized dancing. Last March, students and staff – including President and CEO Brian Tamblyn – busted a move in The Last Class Bar and Grill in a moment of March madness.
