July 22, 2015

Students in the 2014-15 Cabinetmaking Techniques program at the Barrie Campus will display their best work at the third annual Student Cabinetmaking Exhibit this August. It takes place in the Campus Gallery at the Barrie Campus with an opening night celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. The show continues Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Students will be on hand both days to discuss their work, and their custom-made furniture will be available for sale. Pictures shows a custom-made round table in a Georgian skilled trades lab

“The Student Cabinetmaking Exhibit gives both the Georgian community and the public a chance to view their pieces,” says Prof. Lynn MacKinlay. “It’s also a celebration of their hard work as they transition from being students to graduates pursuing careers in cabinetmaking.”

The exhibit is just one of many opportunities Cabinetmaking Techniques students have throughout the year to develop and showcase their skills, she adds.
