Staff from the Midland and Owen Sound campuses are busy cultivating relationships with attendees of the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo 2014 (IPM) in Ivy, Ontario this week.
The event, stretching over 500 acres, celebrates rural living across the province and is expected to draw 100,000 visitors from Tuesday, Sept. 16 to Saturday, Sept. 20.
Many local elementary and high school students are attending as part of field trips. They will enter through the educational section, which features faux barn fronts made by staff and students from the Carpentry Techniques program at the Muskoka campus.
Georgian has a tent in a 100-acre section with over 300 exhibitors, many from the agricultural sector. Chefs from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation are on site offering cooking demonstrations.
