Georgian College Culinary students showed off their cooking and hospitality skills as they mingled with MPPs, college presidents, college board chairs and community leaders at the annual College Day MPP reception at Queen’s Park held in November.

Each participating college created and served an array of tasty treats. Georgian students prepared a mouth-watering menu of local delights like Bala cranberry chutney, Peppery catkins-crusted venison loin carpaccio, and Muskoka maple marshmallow s’mores.

Students were thrilled to take part in such a high profile event, rubbing elbows with luminaries from the provincial government and the college system. It was also a great opportunity to witness how different colleges in the province prepare for these events.

“I enjoyed the experience,” said Culinary student Samantha Vernon. “Seeing what the other colleges had to offer and the diversity was a real eye opener for me.”
