Do your muscles ache from shovelling?

A Georgian massage therapy student massages a patient at the clinicThe recent, massive snowfall has meant long and tedious hours of shovelling for many local residents. For people whose snow-clearing efforts have resulted in sore or strained muscles, Georgian College’s Student Massage Therapy Clinic is open and ready to offer reasonably-priced relief.

With supervision from a Registered Massage Therapist, massage therapy students can work to relieve a patient’s snow-induced aches and pains. A one-hour appointment, certain to put you on the road to wellness, costs $30. Patients also help students develop their skills in making referrals and building individual treatment plans.

Located on the first floor of the Sadlon Centre for Health, Wellness and Sciences at Georgian College’s Barrie Campus, the massage therapy clinic is open Monday to Friday all winter long, excluding students’ study week from Feb. 24 to 28. Appointment times are at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as well as 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays.

To book an appointment, call 705.728.1968, ext. 1253, email massageclinic@georgiancollege.ca, or visit www.mybookingcalendar.com/gcmtclinic .
