Fourth-semester Massage Therapy students, accompanied by Georgian faculty, have been putting their skills to work at RVH’s Wellness Centre every month.

This week, Georgian students massaged more than 75 RVH staff members. Seven students had the opportunity to work in the Palliative Care unit, where they helped patients with comfort and pain management through massage.

The students also used the opportunity to educate fellow health professionals about massage therapists’ scope of practice, which includes treating patients with neurological disorders, fibromyalgia and chronic pain.

Georgian offers both traditional and fast track Massage Therapy programs.
