Barrie Campus celebrates Olympics with torch run
February 07, 2014

Staff and students joined Georgian’s mascot, Growler, in a torch run through the halls of the Barrie Campus to get people excited about today’s Olympic ceremonies.

Wearing patriotic red and white and brandishing a homemade torch, the group wound its way through several of the campus’ busiest areas, clapping and cheering to the sound of rock classics like “Eye of the Tiger.”

Growler isn’t the only one getting into the Olympic spirit. From now until Feb. 12, head to the Barrie Campus Athletic Centre to fill out your prediction for Canada’s 2014 Olympic medal count. Guess the correct number of gold, silver and bronze medals our Olympians will take home and you could win a Grizzly Prize Pack including a one-month fitness membership.

You can also watch Olympic sporting events in the cafeteria at the Owen Sound Campus, the cafeteria and The Den at the Orillia Campus. Catch the games at the Barrie Campus’ First Class café, The Last Class, and the Athletics Centre.
