The Georgian Grizzlies men’s and women’s volleyball teams ran into a tough Canadore Panthers team on Sunday afternoon in North Bay.
The Grizzlies men’s team had a long battle with the Panthers but the five set marathon had Georgian come out on the short end of a 3-2 defeat (25-13, 23-25, 25-18, 16-25, 15-12).
Led by Jason Grimm (Orangeville) who had 15 points, the Grizzlies put forth a good effort to take the game to a tiebreaker set but were unable to get over that last hump to claim victory.
The women’s team had a difficult game against the Panthers as they were unable to get it going offensively, falling in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-19).
Hannah Campbell (Midland) led the Grizzlies with seven points in the loss which dropped the Grizzlies record to 2-1 on the season.
Georgian’s next home game will take place on Friday, Nov. 7 when they host the Durham Lords with the women’s game at 6pm followed by the men’s at 8 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre
