The 30 for 30 Challenge Starts July 2nd!

During the month of July the Georgian Fitness Centre will launch its “30 for 30 Active Living Challenge.”

30 minutes for 30 days (30 for 30) is an active living challenge, inviting everyone to participate by incorporating an average of 30 minutes of activity into each day, for 30 days. The challenge will run from July 2nd through 31st, 2013.

Introducing a new habit into our daily routine takes practice! Did you know it can take 30 days to develop a new behavior that will have a lasting effect?

The 30 for 30 Challenge provides an opportunity to increase your physical activity and make active living not just a habit, but a lifestyle and we are here to help.

When you sign up for the Challenge you will receive information of how to reach your goals and some suggested activities to help you get started, everything from brisk walking to swimming and sport activities counts towards your goal.

Participants will simply enter their weekly minutes of participation, once a week online and your results are tracked and posted on the weekly progress charts.

All those who stay on track and reach the weekly target of 210 minutes per week (30 min/day) will be entered into a weekly draw for some great prizes.

Participants who reach 900 minutes of activity by the end of the thirty days will be entered into the grand prize draw for a Scandinave Spa package at Blue Mountain for two.

There is no cost to sign up when you are a member at the Georgian Fitness Centre. Registrations are now being accepted up until Monday, July 1st at the front desk of the Athletic Centre on the Barrie and Orillia campuses.

There has never been a better time to be a member at the Georgian Fitness Centre and with memberships available for as short as one month the time is now to make active living part of your day-to-day routine.
