Nguyen and Haynes awarded hardware in men’s volleyball

Two members of the Georgian Grizzlies men’s volleyball team were recognized on Friday for their achievements throughout the season at the awards banquet as part of the 2015 OCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship hosted by St. Clair College in Windsor.

Bruce Nguyen was named as an OCAA East Division First Team All-Star after he averaged 2.74 digs per set. The Toronto native had the most digs from the libero position of any east division team this season.

Georgian’s stand out rookie Darien Haynes was named to the OCAA All-Rookie team after a tremendous season where he finished tied for 18th in points in the OCAA averaging 3.3 points per set. A native of Barrie, Haynes led the Grizzlies overall in kills (182), blocks (47) and points (233).

The two will be looked upon to be valuable members of the Grizzlies team moving into next season.
