Former Georgian Grizzlies women’s volleyball star Meagan McLellan was recognized for her tremendous collegiate athletic career by being inducted into the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Apr. 29 in Oakville.

McLellan played five seasons for the Grizzlies from 2004 to 2009 and finished her career as Georgian’s all-time leading scorer.

She registered an incredible 720 kills, 147 blocks and 109 service aces for a total of 976 points which ranks her fifth all-time in OCAA history.

A fierce competitor, McLellan was a former two time Georgian female athlete of the year including in her final season of competition in 2008-09 where she set the then OCAA record for scoring in a single season registering an incredible 334 points.

McLellan who recently moved back to Barrie looks back at her time competing with the Grizzlies as some of the best in her life.

“I had a blast in my years at Georgian,” she said shortly after her induction. “It’s such an honour to be recognized this way.”

McLellan enters the OCAA Hall of Fame as the thirteenth honoured member from Georgian College.
