Toronto, ON – November 18th, 2013 – The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) announced its major award winners for the 2013 Men’s Rugby season on Monday including some significant milestones for the Georgian Grizzlies.
Veteran lock Austin St. Amant of Tiny along with freshman scrum-half Brett White of Erin were both named OCAA All-Stars.
St. Amant who finished his fourth year with the Grizzlies developed into one of the biggest physical forces in the OCAA while being a leader to his teammates.
White made an immediate impact with the group in his first year of play scoring critical points and impressing those around him with his work ethic.
Grizzlies Head Coach John Daggett was also named Coach of the Year for the West Division.
Daggett is in his second year as Head Coach of the program and was instrumental to the success of the team as they moved to Division I for the start of the 2012 season. The Grizzlies have made the playoffs in two consecutive seasons and finished the regular season with a 4-2 record, with their two losses coming to the eventual OCAA Champions from Humber College.
