Lambton Tournament Recap
October 23, 2012

Sarnia, ON – Georgian’s Women’s Basketball team had a busy weekend competing in the Lambton College Tournament this past weekend.

The tournament was the last exhibition tune-up the team will have before opening up there regular season on November 2nd.

The team battled through being a bit short-handed for the weekend due to some injuries but that gave the opportunity for some other players to step up and get prepared for the season.

The Grizzlies fell to the Redeemer Royals 79-48, but saw a great performance by Agnes Bartosik who posted 17 points.

Georgian then saw what type of competition they will be facing this year dropping a tough match to the St. Clair Saints 85-31. Kimberly Solorzano led the way for the team scoring 12 points.

In the final match of the tournament, the Grizzlies faced the host Lambton Lions. The Lions were too much to handle for Georgian as the Grizzlies fell 71-51.

The Grizzlies open up their regular season at home on Friday, November 2nd when they host the Loyalist Lancers at 6pm.
