Women’s volleyball player Hannah Campbell has been named Georgian Grizzlies Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Grizzlies to two straight wins this weekend.
Campbell, a student in the Human Resource Management program, had a team leading 11 point performance in the Grizzlies 3-0 win over Fleming on Saturday and followed that with an 8 point effort on Sunday in a 3-2 win over Trent.
The native of Midland is in her fifth season with the Grizzlies and is sitting in the top 20 for points in the entire OCAA. After the weekend’s two victories, the Grizzlies sit in a tie for first place in the east division standings with a 5-1 record.
Also in consideration for this week’s award was badminton player Sharon Lu who had a strong performance in women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles at the Fanshawe Invitational and men’s volleyball player Matt Boucher who had 19 points in two contests this weekend including helping the Grizzlies to a 3-1 win over Trent on Sunday.
