Grizzlies Women Dominant in Final Exhibition Tune-up
October 25, 2012

The Grizzlies looked strong winning 3-0 over George Brown Wednesday

If their performance is a sign of things to come, they will be looking to contend this season. The Grizzlies dominated the visiting George Brown Huskies team winning 3-0 with games of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-11 for the clean sweep.

After a tough battle in the first game, the Grizzlies got into their groove and looked stronger as the match went on, taking the fight out of the Huskies.

A big part of the win came in the Grizzlies ability to dominate on the serve. Georgian finished with a 20-7 edge in serving aces, largely due to veteran Erin McClean’s strong play. The Barrie native put up 7 serving aces of her own along with 5 kills and looks ready for the regular schedule to begin.

Veterans Natalie Buck and Kelsey Buckley both had 7 kills while freshman Katharyn Avery looked strong adding 3 blocks.

The Grizzlies will now prepare for their season opener on Saturday, November 3rd when they travel to Boreal.
