Sudbury, ON – November 11th, 2012 – After dropping their first three games of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) season, all in tight games, the Georgian Grizzlies Men’s Basketball Team busted out of their slump in a big way defeating the Cambrian Golden Shield 96-59 Sunday afternoon in Sudbury.
The Grizzlies were able to get up early and never looking back, leading at halftime 42-31, but Georgian really put the game away in the third quarter where they outscored Cambrian 36-13.
Innisfil, Ontario native and four year Grizzlies veteran forward Jevon Francis scored a season high 27 points going 12-for-15 from the field to lead Georgian to their first win of the season.
Freshman Alex Fields had a great game putting up 17 points while Tevin Goodridge had 10 points rounding out the Grizzlies top scorers.
Next up for the Grizzlies is a showdown with the Algonquin Thunder on Friday, November 16th at the Georgian Athletic Centre starting at 8pm.
