It was another solid showing for the Georgian Grizzlies men’s and women’s golf teams on Monday at the Niagara College Invitational held at Hunter’s Pointe Golf Course in Welland.

Georgian’s men’s team had an impressive showing with their third straight second place finish, just a few strokes behind the Humber College team.

A pair of Grizzlies finished tied for second in the individual standings with both Jeff Beedham (Georgetown) and Dan Knapp (Burlington) shooting rounds of 72, just two strokes behind the winner, Curtis Hartley from Humber.

Previous individual winners from earlier this season, Tyler Cameron (Sturgeon Falls) and Matt Lemay (Waterloo) both finished in the top ten.

Cory Pond (Simcoe) was the top placing Grizzlies women’s golfer finishing in sixth place.

The Grizzlies will next take part in the OCAA Championships which take place Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 hosted by Fleming College.
