Grizzlies set to host Teddy Bear Toss December 5th
November 27, 2012

The Georgian Grizzlies men’s and women’s basketball teams are preparing for “Teddy Bear Toss Night” on Wednesday, Dec. 5, as they host the Seneca Sting at the Georgian College Athletic Centre.

Fans are asked to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to the game. During half-time of the men’s game, they will be invited to throw their teddy bears onto the court. The teddy bears will be donated to the Barrie and District Christmas Cheer campaign.

The women’s game begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free with a donation of a stuffed animal, however cash donations to the Christmas Cheer campaign will be graciously accepted.

“As a proud member of the community, we want to do all that we can to help those in need this holiday season,” said Michele McConney, Manager of Athletics at Georgian College. “This is a fun way for all members of the community to participate in a great cause while being a part of making someone’s Christmas brighter this year.”

Stuffed animals can also be dropped off before the event in the lobby of the Georgian College Athletic and Fitness Centre located in the Student Life Centre located at the Barrie Campus of Georgian College. All students, staff and members of the community are encouraged to participate by donating stuffed animals to the cause.
