Barrie, ON – Two home victories this weekend by the Georgian men’s basketball team has put them in a position to host a playoff game.
On Saturday the Grizzlies edged the Algonquin Thunder 69-67, as Shane Rowe scored 24 points and grabbed 24 rebounds. Ben Dance had 17 points, while Kerel Pryce, making his first start of the year, had 14 points while going a perfect 3/3 from the three-point line.
Romaine Lawrence was top scorer for the Thunder with 21 points.
Against the La Cite Coyotes on Sunday afternoon, rookie Ivan Ivic came off the bench to score a career-high 24 points to lead Georgian to an 86-69 win in their regular season finale. Ivic went 4/5 from behind the arc.
Shane Rowe had his 10th double-double of the year with 13 points and 21 rebounds., as Georgian completes the regular season with a 12-8 record.
The Grizzlies will finish in third or fourth place depending on the results of games played on Wednesday night and will host their OCAA playoff qualifier on Sunday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m.
