Grizzlies men’s indoor soccer season comes to an end
March 02, 2015

The Georgian Grizzlies men’s indoor soccer team faced some tough competition at the OCAA Regionals held at the Ontario Soccer Association Centre in Vaughan on Monday.

After dropping a tight opening round match to Fleming by a 1-0 score, Georgian needed big efforts the rest of the day to keep their provincial hopes alive.

They responded in a big way, first they dropped Conestoga by a 2-1 score with goals from Linas Katinas and Jorge Cantor and followed that by scoring three unanswered goals in the second half to defeat St. Lawrence – Cornwall by a 4-1 score. Linas Katinas continued his strong day with two goals in the final game while the Grizzlies also had goals from Victor Frohman and Mortaza Ahmadzai, but it would not be enough to get through to the championship.

The Grizzlies 2-1 record put them in a three way tie in the pool along with Conestoga and Fleming. With the top two teams in the pool moving on to the provincials, Georgian were unfortunately the odd team out in the end ending their season.
