The Georgian Grizzlies men’s basketball team used a balanced effort to defeat the Canadore Panthers 83-64 on Sunday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The Grizzlies had double digit point totals from four different players on the way to their second largest margin of victory this season.
Tequilan Zwarych (Whitby) had another big game for the Grizzlies, scoring 26 points and adding 12 rebounds for his twelfth double-double of the season.
Justin Mitchell (Newmarket) had his fourth straight game in double digits with 12 points, while Dylan McKenzie (Bracebridge) and Jonathan Edwards (Mississauga) each had 11 points on the afternoon.
The Grizzlies now have 10 wins on the season (matching last year’s total), with seven contests still remaining.
Georgian will head to Ottawa next weekend to face Algonquin and La Cite in another two big games for the team. The Grizzlies will play their next home game on Friday, Jan. 30, hosting the Durham Lords, a possible match for first place in the east division standings.
