Grizzlies fall to defending champs from Humber
October 03, 2014

Facing the four time OCAA men’s rugby champions and a team in the Humber Hawks that has yet to give a point this season, the Georgian Grizzlies knew it would be an uphill battle on Thursday afternoon.

The Grizzlies put in a good effort but couldn’t find a way to solve the Hawks attack leading to an 87-0 defeat on the road.

Despite the wide margin of victory the Grizzlies regrouped at the half and battled all the way until the end, learning some valuable lessons as they move forward with their season.

Nick Manoukas, Michael Nieuwenhuysen, Justin Tota and Jordan Reid each had three tries for the undefeated Hawks.

The Grizzlies will have this upcoming week off before regrouping as they play their final regular season home game against the Sheridan Bruins (0-3) on Oct. 14 at the Barrie Community Sports Complex. They follow that with their final game when they travel to Kitchener to face the Conestoga Condors (1-2) on Oct. 19.
