Good showing for Grizzlies at Fanshawe Invitational

London, ON – November 18th, 2012 – The Georgian Grizzlies Badminton team continue to show that they are a threat in the OCAA after another strong showing at the Fanshawe Invitational tournament this past weekend in London, Ontario.

Georgian’s Sean Irving led the way for the Grizzlies making it all the way to the singles finals in the “A” side of the tournament while also earning a spot in the men’s doubles finals with teammate Trevor Neville.

Irving wasn’t done there as he also won the mixed doubles A pool with Carolyn Tubman.

Not to be out done was Rebecca Trischler who earned a spot in the semi-finals of the women’s A side while also winning the women’s doubles B side with Carolyn Tubman. She also made it to the semi-finals of the mixed doubles B side with Logan Dayus.

Dayus also had success with Josh Milligan reaching the semi-finals of the Men’s B side with Milligan made it all the way to the finals of the B side singles.

Trevor Neville along with his reaching the men’s doubles finals he along with Maggie Tremblay made it to the semi-finals of the mixed doubles A side, while Tremblay along with Heather Breadner made it to the women’s doubles B final.

It was a successful tournament for the Grizzlies as they continue to grow and develop as they prepare to host the 2013 CCAA Badminton National Championship from Feb. 28 to Mar. 2, 2013 at Georgian College.
