Women’s volleyball player Allison Marshall has been named Georgian Grizzlies Athlete of the Week after helping lead her team to a pair of big victories to help her team clinch first place in the OCAA east division
Marshall, a student in the Fitness and Health Promotion program, had 23 points in two games including a team leading 19 points in a huge victory over Canadore on Saturday which guaranteed the Grizzlies a bye to the OCAA Championship.
The Orillia native is currently in second place on the Grizzlies in scoring averaging 3.1 points per set which also places her 17th overall in the OCAA.
Also in consideration for this week’s award was men’s basketball player Abed Emran who had an incredible shooting performance scoring 35 points in a win over Fleming, women’s basketball player Hannah Pearsall who had 28 points in a win over Fleming, women’s badminton player Sharon Lu who qualified for the OCAA Championships with a third place finish at regionals and men’s indoor soccer player Victor Frohmann who earned tournament MVP honours at the George Brown Invitational which the Grizzlies won on Friday.
