Every fall, Corporate Marketing hires a dynamic group of Marketing Assistants to raise awareness of Georgian College’s offerings and programs from all seven campuses. For the next three months, they will provide frontline support to our full-time recruiters, representing Georgian at high school assemblies across Ontario – everywhere from Sault Ste-Marie, to Sarnia and Kingston.
This year, all four Marketing Assistants are Georgian graduates – a fact that will really help Aaron Schoenmaker (top left), Chris Araujo (top right), Dustin Aucoin (bottom left) and Sean Peressotti (bottom right), bring the Georgian experience to life for potential students.
“I’m excited to be able to share with everyone looking for postsecondary education what Georgian College has to offer and how it helped me,” says Chris. “Georgian gave me the confidence and skills, along with the tools I needed, to be successful.”
The Marketing Assistants come from a variety of programs and work experiences. For Dustin, this contract will serve as a great co-op experience for his Business Marketing program. Aaron graduated from the Tourism Management program in 2011 and worked for the Downtown Orillia Management Board as well as Casino Rama before jumping on this opportunity.
All four assistants are excited about the work ahead of them. Some are really looking forward to connecting with potential students, while others are looking forward to learning from other recruitment professionals on the road.
This is Sean’s third semester in a junior recruitment position. “Why did I come back? Because I love the job!” he says.
