Your academic dress will depend on the certificate, diploma, or degree you’ll be receiving. Graduands (students about to graduate) receiving a certificate wear a gown. Graduands receiving an Ontario College Certificate, Ontario College Diploma or Ontario College Advanced Diploma wear a liripipe and gown. Graduands receiving a degree wear a hood and gown. The staff in the gowning room will provide the appropriate academic dress, which is to be worn over your regular clothes for the duration of the ceremony.

Most graduates find that the room gets very warm so are most comfortable in business casual wear although you may want to skip the jacket or leave it with guests.

Please note: graduates will not be allowed to carry anything with them into the gymnasium (i.e. cell phones, cameras, purses). Please leave all valuables with guests.

Feel free to use the gown for photo opportunities following the ceremony, but they must be returned to the gowning room within one half hour after the conclusion of the ceremony.
