The Georgian College Nurse Practitioner-led Clinic is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The clinic offers all the services you may expect from a family practice. If you have a valid Ontario Health Card and do not have a health care provider in the area, you may apply to become a patient. Appointments are necessary. Urgent appointments may be available.
Each patient will have a nurse practitioner as his/her primary health care provider. Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with additional education and authority to diagnose illness/injury, order medical tests, treat a variety of illnesses, prescribe medications and monitor chronic medical conditions.
The dedicated clinic team currently includes:
- Four nurse practitioners
- Collaborating physicians
- Registered nurses
- Social workers
- A registered dietitian
- Ontario Telemedicine
- Annual health care exams
- Minor injury/illness
- Support to quit smoking
- Mental health counselling
- Dietary counselling
- Monitoring and management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, asthma and heart disease
- Student health outreach
- Ontario telemedicine
- Health promotion and prevention

The Georgian Nurse Practitioner-led Clinic is located at Georgian College (1 Georgian Drive, Barrie) in the Sadlon Centre for Health, Wellness and Sciences (M Building). The clinic is located in room M139.
Hours of operation
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Evening clinics on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
