There are a number of student-run businesses offering students the opportunity to work in a fun, co-operative environment on campus. Keep your eyes open for applications to these Student Life-run businesses.
The Georgian College Students’ Association (GCSA) is proud to operate businesses on campus. There is the newly expanded Last Class Bar and Grill, which offers lunch, dinner catering, and where famous pub nights are held. There is also the Athletic and Fitness Centre, housing an 8,600-square-foot fitness centre and a 20,000-square-foot double gymnasium. GCSA also produces the Student Planner and operates the Georgian Eye – an online blog written by students, for students.
The Last Class (TLC) is the Barrie Campus restaurant and pub. TLC is located in the Student Life Centre and hosts a variety of events from pub nights to live entertainment to charity fundraisers, and much more. TLC also offers catering services that meet the needs of all types of events, both small and large.
TLC is open Monday to Friday as a full-service restaurant with a diverse menu that caters to different food preferences, as well as daily in-house food and beverage specials that accomodate the college students’ budget.
Available for class pub nights and outside bookings, TLC provides an ideal, cost-effective way for students, staff and the public to enjoy a piece of college life in a welcoming atmosphere with great staff and food.
All of the revenue made by the TLC goes directly back into the Student Life Centre, which provides events and functions for students.

The First Class is proud to offer an exciting food and beverage menu for Georgian College students and staff. We offer panini sandwiches and a variety of other great breakfast, lunch and snack options. Come lounge by the fireplace with a friend over a cup of coffee or shoot a round of pool. The cafe is licensed and provides free wireless Internet access.
The First Class is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., September through April and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the summer semester.

There’s no busier place at the Barrie Campus than the Athletic and Fitness Centre and its modern 8,600-square-foot fitness centre and a 20,000-square-foot double gymnasium. It’s equipped with the latest weight and cardio machines and a full line of free weights. You’ll also enjoy our indoor climbing wall, multi-purpose room, indoor walking/running track and well-equipped change rooms with shower and locker areas. Fitness classes such as Spinning, Pilates, and Step are included in your student membership, which is only $30 (+GST) per semester (full-time students only).
Dedicated athletes may try competing at the varsity level on one of our Grizzly teams. Try out for men’s rugby; men’s and women’s golf, basketball, cross-country running, volleyball, indoor soccer or badminton.
Get active just for the fun of it; join one of our many campus recreation leagues and activities! They offer a full range of intramural sports, including co-ed indoor soccer, ice hockey and co-ed volleyball, among others. The Campus Recreation Co-ordinator also co-ordinates off-campus group activities such as snow tubing, dog sledding, canoe and kayaking trips.

The Den restaurant & Pub, is open Monday to Friday, and also hosts our pub nights – check out our events calendar to see when they are.
The Fitness Centre is always being upgraded with new equipment; and check out the lunch-hour group class schedule for a new way to work out.
Printing Services offers print credits, faxing, laminating, info on student housing and the health and dental plan and bus info – it’s located in the library or across from the Bookstore.

The Den Restaurant & Pub is our on-site, student-run restaurant and pub. All-day breakfasts, lunch and dinner menus are available. The restaurant and pub features a large bar area with TVs connected to the latest sports and news. Upstairs in the Den is a student lounge with a pool table, TV and Wii.

The Orillia Campus Fitness Centre is open to students for a nominal fee. Fitness memberships are also available to staff and the public. Equipment includes:
- Rowing machines
- Weight machines
- Full line of free weights
Change rooms have lockers for day or yearly use, as well as private shower stalls.
Fitness Centre staff are educated about the equipment, so don’t hesitate to ask questions or ask for a tour of the facility.
Some recent renovations have improved the facility. These include new faucets in the showers and tiles in the men’s showers. Future plans include installing an updated front counter, repainting showers and getting some new fitness equipment!

Printing Services is the place to go for print credits, laminating, faxing, information on your student health and dental plan and student housing, buy GCSA event tickets, and get a coffee or popcorn if you’re studying late!
To use the printers in the library, each student needs to purchase print credits
Printing Prices: 10¢ for front page, 9¢ for back, minimum purchase of $1 (Cash) and $3 (Debit). Printer Settings are automatically double sided, and black & white.
Colour Printing Available in the settings (uses additional print credits)
Laminating is available at Printing Services as a ‘next day’ service.
Laminating prices: $1.25 for a 1’ x 2’ section
Faxing is available at Printing Services as a ‘same day’ service
Faxing prices: $1 for first page (in Ontario) 50¢ for each additional page (confirmation provided)
Student health plan
GCSA provides student health and dental insurance for students through Gallivan & Associates, with insurance through Great West Life. Printing Services has information about opt-out, family opt-in, claim information, and general information.
