Georgian College’s first Human Resources Student Association (HuRSA) is proud to announce its first ever Speed Mentoring event, which will be held Friday March 9, at the beautiful Georgian College Dining Room (Hospitality and Tourism Building E).
The Speed Mentoring event will match 12 human resources professionals, who will act as mentors with 24 mentees made up of Georgian College human resources students. Each pairing will have four minutes to solicit as much information as possible on topics that include potential job openings, resume/cover letter feedback, attaining the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, the National Knowledge Exam (NKE), HRPA, and any other HR topic, which mentees may be able glean from the knowledge of the mentors during the allotted time period. This will be followed by a 30 second seat change so that by the end of each round each mentor will have had time with each of the 12 mentees. There will be two rounds of mentoring so that all 24 mentees can be successfully rotated through the process.
The event will begin at 6:30 PM with a brief social featuring a light meal and beverages with mentoring getting underway promptly at 7:00 PM.
Interested students are required to pay 5 dollars to help contribute to covering the cost of the event.
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be introduced to, network with, and take advantage of the knowledge of experienced human resources professionals!
