Staying Interest Free

Are you on a co-op work term or studying full-time without OSAP assistance?

  • During co-op placements or if you return to full-time studies without further OSAP, the Continuation of Interest-Free Status is used to keep your loans in interest-free status and good standing. You must provide this form to the Financial Aid office for electronic submission to the National Student Loans Service Centre to have your file updated. This form cannot be submitted after the semester end date!
  • If you are on a co-op placement, please print the Continuation of Interest-Free Status, complete the Student Information section and drop off or mail to your Financial Aid Office for electronic submission. Please be advised that CIFS forms will not be entered by our office unless you are currently registered full-time on Banner or in a co-op placement and have a current learning agreement on file with your co-op consultant. the form  is available in the Financial Aid office or at http:osap.gov.on.ca
  • If you have received OSAP funding prior to August 1, 2000 you must also confirm your enrollment with your previous bank lender and the National Student Loan Centre. Additional information on your responsibilities to your lender(s) is available in the Financial Aid Office or on the OSAP website, http://osap.gov.on.ca.
  • It is your responsibility to follow-up with the NSLSC to ensure your loans are in good standing. Please visit the National Student Loan Service Centre online at https://nslsc.canlearn.ca/eng/default.aspx.
