Georgian Bursary Program
Georgian College has established a bursary fund to aid eligible students who have applied for OSAP and require additional assistance in funding their education expenses. The bursary is valued at a minimum of $500; however the value may vary from term to term as funds permit. The bursary will be applied as a payment towards any outstanding balance with the College or as a deposit towards next semester’s tuition, if applicable.

Eligibility Criteria
- You must be a student whose parents have never attended full-time or part-time post-secondary studies in Canada or elsewhere.
- You must have completed an OSAP application for the current academic year.
- You must be enrolled full-tme in the current academic year and be in good academic standing.
- You must be returning to full-time study at Georgian College for the winter or summer semester 2011.
- You must complete the Ontario First Generation Bursary application.
- You must demonstrate a financial need on the budget provided.
- Application deadline: Last business day in January.
Ontario First Generation Bursary Application
Aboriginal Post Secondary Education and Training (PSET) Bursary
Georgian College is pleased to announce that the Government of Ontario has allocated funds to create a bursary fund for Aboriginal Post secondary Education Students through the Ministry’s Access and Opportunities Strategy. This bursary will provide direct support to aboriginal students with financial need to attend post-secondary studies.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- you must be considered an Ontario resident (resident of Ontario, minimum of 12 months prior to your first day of study at Georgian College)
- you must be enrolled in the current academic year of study in a post secondary program
- you must be an aboriginal student, who has self identified with the college. (If you have not self identified, please contact the Aboriginal Resource Centre, Kathy Marsden, e-mail kmarsden@georgianc.on.ca , visit or call 705-728-1968 ext 1316 before applying)
- you must have a financial need
If you believe you meet the above criteria, please submit the completed application by the last business day in January. (All questions must be answered or your submission will not be considered).
Métis Nation of Ontario Bursary
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Open to students with financial need, are of Métis ancestry and are enrolled in any year, in any program at any campus.
Two forms are required: the Métis Student Awards Verification Form and the Métis Application for Post Secondary Assistance (both in award file). - Eligibility determined by Financial Aid and Métis Nation of Ontario.
- Application deadline: last business day in January.
