Course description

In this course, students read and interpret information found on architectural, structural and electrical drawings to determine which codes and standards apply to the various electrical installations. They work with drawings to interpret the various types of drawing symbols, read measurement scales, and identify common building materials and building methods. Students also explore the reading of specifications, electrical equipment selection, ordering of electrical materials and installation scheduling.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
