Course description

Students consolidate the fundamentals of counselling with particular emphasis on Motivational Interviewing techniques. Students explore the principles of ethical practice and decision-making while learning to understand resistance and to enhance client confidence. Students also interpret the impact of spousal and family systems in the process of change. Throughout the course, students practise and receive feedback as their counselling skills develop.

Post Graduate level ADCT 1000 Intro to Counselling: Motivate Minimum Grade of 60

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
